Hi guys Im about to bottle a blueberry american blonde ale. Tasted some of it while taking a gravity reading and the beer had very little body. No off flavours or anything else thats wrong. The colour is beautifull My orignal gravity was on the low side - 1.036 and my final gravity is 1.010. Fermented for a week in primary (fermentation was good), transfered to secondary, added 875g of blueberries (heated them to 80degrees and let it sit for 20minbefore crushing them). Fermentation was kick started again and only stopped 3.5 weeks later. Is it possible that the adding of the fruit and long fermentation time affected the body? I have read somewhere that a long fermentation time causes all of the carbohydrates to be 'eaten up' More importantly is there anything I can do at this stage to improve the body? Thanks! Lynnae |
